  • Innovative sustainable scenario for 2050 wins International NRG Battle
    Published on: 14-06-11 The second preliminary round of the International NRG Battle powered by GasTerra lead to many innovative solutions in the Innovation Centre for Sustainable Construction (ICDuBo). The theme; From Dreams to Reality was supported by the host of this round. A centre, that inspired participants by showcasing innovative experiments provided by companies that focus on sustainable constructions. Students from all over the world competed in 15 multidisciplinary teams for a spot in the finals of the International NRG Battle, which will be held during the Energy Delta Convention on the 23rd of November in Groningen.

    Published on: 06-06-11 Amsterdam - May 20th 2011, Last Friday, the Duisenberg school of finance took its focus on innovation, with regards to financial issues in the finance sector. 100 talented students were pre-selected by companies, in order to participate in the International Finance Battle, which is organized by StudentStock, part of StudentsMedia. The students worked in multidisciplinary teams consisting out of 5 members, on different cases, varying from pension risk monitoring, sustainable banking and International tax law.

Companies including GasTerra, DSM, Siemens, Electrabel, Gasunie, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Grontmij Netherlands, Waterbedrijf Groningen, E-on Benelux, Dong Energy, Tennet BioMCN, Incas3, CB&I, Gemeente Groningen will attend. Two hundred ambitious HBO/WO university students work for a day on issues in the field of energy and pitch their idea at the end of the day. An expert jury will select five finalists teams in this second qualifying round. The final of the Energy Battle 2010 www.energybattle2010.nl will take place in November, during the Energy Delta Convention.

    Published on: 04-06-10 On May 29 th 2010 StudentsMedia, in collaboration with Health Valley, organised the first qualifying round of the International Health Battle in Groningen. The Health Battle is a competition where teams of students compete for the Health Innovation Award! The final of the Health Battle takes place at the Health Valley Event in March 2011 in Nijmegen. In Groningen, the tone was set with the kick of of the first qualifying round, and turned out a very successful afternoon. After a hard day work the students presented their solution to an expert panel of judges with Remco Hoogendijk as jury president. On the basis of three criteria for U.S. patent application: novelty, utility and nonobvious character three final teams were selected, Ordina, Health valley and IQCorporation.

    Published on: 17-05-10 On Friday the 19th of February Studentstock organised the first qualifying round of the International Energy Battle 2010 in the stadium of FC Groningen. Two hundred ambitious 3rd year Higher Vocational and University students from all over the Netherlands focused on current issues presented by energy companies in the course of a day. A renowned jury chaired by the CEO of chief sponsor GasTerra, Gertjan Lankhorst, selected five teams from this first qualifying round to proceed to the final. The second qualifying round will be on the 11th of September and the final of the Energy Battle 2010 will take place in November, during the Energy Delta Convention.
